The SEAT León Eurocup staged one of its hardest-fought and spectacular meetings of the season on the British Brands Hatch track. The second race, held today, proclaimed Norbert Michelisz as the winner of the weekend and new leader of the overall standings.

The winner of the second race, Frenchman Jean Marie Claret, won in England the right to take part in the next round of the World Championship, to be held in Oschersleben (Germany) on September 6th, at the wheel of a León WTCC.

The second race was very exciting and it was raced to the limit by all drivers, including several incidents, fortunately without serious consequences. From the very start, Niogret and Claret took the lead passing Pedala and Larini, who were on the front row, and from then on held a close fight. Clairet quickly opened a gap and Nordstrom, who lapped on second during a large part of the race, was penalised due to a wrong start.

Further in the back, the best battle of the race was offered by Puyo, Pedalá, Barth and Welch. Pedala was the only one of them who managed to avoid the incidents. The rest of drivers were out of the race. Clairet crossed the finish line all alone, followed by Pedala and Michelisz who thanks to his third place took the overall victory.
